EMC DirectiveSelling products throughout the world requires a thorough understanding
of individual country requirements. In Europe, the requirements of the
European Union have been harmonized into one set of standards that apply
differently depending upon the type of product being sold. The European
requirement for Electromagnetic Compatibility is known as the Electromagnetic
Compatibility Directive. The former Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive, 89/336/EEC, was replaced on July 20, 2007 with the new Directive 2004/108/EC. To demonstrate compliance
to the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive, the CE
Marking must be affixed to the product, which allows the free movement
of goods throughout the European Union. |
